Winnebago ARKA 1st Gen

2027+ · Body codes ARKA20Z

Newly announced

Winnebago's first adventure-truck-camper platform, built on a Ram 5500 4×4 with the 6.7L Cummins diesel and 8-speed automatic. Announced for the 2027 model year with a single floorplan at launch — the ARKA 20Z, 26'7" overall, sleeping four and seating six. Pre-orders open; Winnebago lists a fully equipped configuration at $331,901, putting the rig at roughly a third the price of a fully kitted EarthCruiser and positioning it inside the brand's Backcountry Series alongside the Revel and Ekko. Public debut: Overland Expo West, Flagstaff, May 2026.

Box-to-chassis mounting. The habitation box is decoupled from the truck frame via a four-point, "zero-torsion" pillow-block subframe, so the cabin can move independently as the heavy-duty Ram frame flexes off-road. In Winnebago's own footage on rough ground the camper visibly rocks relative to the cab — that's the system working, not failing, and it's why expedition builders like EarthCruiser, Unicat, and Bliss Mobil have used variations of the same idea for years. Roof is one-piece molded fiberglass; cabinetry is aluminum. Winnebago says the platform went through its OEM durability program at roughly 100,000-mile equivalent loads. Tow rating is 15,000 lb.

Power and water. A 48-volt architecture with up to ~15 kWh of lithium (Winnebago's marketing top end is 16.8 kWh), up to 800 W of expandable solar, dual alternators, and shore-power compatibility. The 14-days-off-grid claim is qualified in trade coverage as two occupants under moderate use, no AC. Fresh water 60 gal, grey 40 gal, both heated and insulated. Hydronic heat runs the cabin, floors, and tank bay with auto-engagement below 45°F; multi-zone climate covers the main cabin and cabover bunk independently. The "first-in-RV" heat-recovery ventilation system manages humidity and condensation. Rated operating range −10°F to 120°F. Insulation R-15 roof, R-12 walls.

Galley. Solid-surface counters, stainless under-mount sink, portable induction cooktop, pantry, and a 6.2 cu-ft fridge with a drawer freezer — all in the aluminum cabinetry.

Bathroom. Compact wet bath in the middle of the camper: retractable privacy screen, folding shower seat, Thetford cassette toilet on a sliding tray, and an overhead extraction fan.

Sleeping and storage. Over-cab bunk configures as twin, queen, or king; the rear dinette converts to a second berth. The full-height rear gear garage is heated, with van-style double doors, L-track tie-downs throughout the cabin and garage, and external storage bins. Dropping a dinette section extends the garage volume for longer cargo.

Tech. Winnebago Connect handles tank/power/climate/security monitoring through a touchscreen and mobile app, with pitch-and-roll readouts for leveling and Pet Minder climate alerts. SIM-modem and Starlink integration are optional.
