Overview
The Quartermaster is the pickup version of the Ineos Grenadier, built on a stretched version of the same ladder frame. Ineos lengthened the wheelbase by more than 20 inches behind the cab to make room for a five-foot bed, and it reached US buyers in 2024, a year after the Station Wagon.
Mechanically the Quartermaster is the Grenadier. It carries the same BMW-sourced 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six rated 282 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, the same 8-speed ZF automatic, the same permanent four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case, and the same beam axles on coil springs. The longer wheelbase costs it breakover clearance and turning radius against the Station Wagon, but it raises payload to roughly 1,840 pounds while keeping the 7,716-pound tow rating. The bed is sized to take a standard pallet between the wheel arches.
The lineup mirrors the Station Wagon. A base Quartermaster, an off-road Trialmaster Edition, and a comfort-leaning Fieldmaster Edition are all sold as five-seat crew cabs. Ineos also offers the Quartermaster as a Chassis Cab, a cab-and-frame version with no bed, intended for owners and upfitters who want to mount a flatbed, a camper body, or a service body of their own.
As a midsize body-on-frame pickup with low range and locking differentials, the Quartermaster has few direct rivals. It is closest in concept to the Jeep Gladiator, though it is built heavier and priced higher, and it appeals to buyers who want a cargo bed on a vehicle held to the Grenadier's deliberately old-school standard.
