The Sonora Rally is a three-day rally raid run from San Luis Río Colorado in Sonora, Mexico, concentrated in the dune fields of the Altar Desert. Competitors navigate by roadbook rather than following a marked course, across classes covering 2WD and 4WD cars, three tiers of UTV, and motorcycles from 525cc enduros up to big adventure bikes. An optional navigation school runs the Thursday before the start. The UTV Road to Dakar winner receives a paid entry into Dakar 2028, and the moto field races for six Dakar qualifying points.
